    Deemed to Satisfy & Fire Safety Systems Consultation Meeting Request
  • Purpose of the Meeting:

    • These meetings are preliminary in nature and are intended to occur prior to any formal lodgements.
    • The advice provided by DFES at this stage is for early guidance only.
    • More detailed advice will be provided following the submission of the DTS Plans.

    Scope of the Meeting:

    • This “Deemed to Satisfy & Fire Safety Systems” consultation meeting will be attended by DFES Building Fire Safety Officers only.
    • Performance-based fire engineering solutions or deviations from the NCC will not be discussed during this meeting.
    • If such matters need to be addressed, please submit a Fire Engineering & Deemed to Satisfy (DTS) Meeting Request instead.

    Direct Brigade Alarm (DBA) Considerations:

    • For comprehensive technical DBA connection performance matters, please contact the DBA team at dba@dfes.wa.gov.au to arrange a separate meeting.

    Submission Requirements:

    • This form must be completed and submitted to the DFES Built Environment Branch (BEB), along with all relevant plans, before a meeting can be scheduled.
    • All submitted information and documentation must be accurate, complete, and up to date to ensure an effective and productive meeting.
    • All plans relevant to the discussion – including, where applicable, the flow and pressure test report – must be submitted as part of this request. Incomplete submissions may result in limited or inaccurate advice.

    Project Limit:

    • Applicants may book up to two projects within the same time slot. Details for both projects must be included in the same meeting request form. 
    • Adding a project at a later date is not permitted.
    • Only plans submitted with the meeting request will be discussed. Additional or unrelated plans must not be presented during the meeting.

    Meeting Minutes:

    • Automated summaries, such as those generated by Read.ai, are not accepted as official meeting minutes.
    • If the design team wishes to submit minutes, they must be prepared in a standard meeting minutes format and submitted within 10 working days to BEBadmin@dfes.wa.gov.au.
    • Please note that any minutes submitted may not be reviewed or endorsed by the DFES attending officer(s). However, all submitted minutes will be retained for record-keeping purposes.

    Confidentiality:

    • All submitted materials will be treated as confidential and used solely for the purpose of assessing the project(s).
