    Conditions of Entry

    • Entrants must live and work in Western Australia.
    • Nominees must demonstrate an outstanding commitment to providing pro bono or Legal Aid work to benefit the Western Australian community.
    • Nominations can be made by any individual (including self-nominations), or on behalf of an organisation.
    • Nominees must be a fit and proper person to practise law and must not have been found to have engaged in professional misconduct or unsatisfactory professional conduct; or the subject of professional disciplinary proceedings resulting in a reprimand, fine, suspension, conditions on practice or cancellation of a practising certificate.

    Selection of Award Recipients

    • A short-listing process will be conducted by a panel established by the Law Society of Western Australia in conjunction with Legal Aid WA. The final selection will be made by the Attorney General.
    • The decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
    • The Attorney General will present the winners with the Attorney General's Community Service Law Awards at a function.

    Promotion Terms

    • The Department of Justice may publish photographs, stories and other content related to the Law Awards in its own publications and in publications produced by other agencies. This content may also be used on Departmental and Ministerial websites, social media channels, and other promotional or marketing materials, in written, electronic or multimedia formats.
    • Before submitting this nomination, you must obtain the nominee’s informed consent for the Department of Justice to collect, use and publish their name, image (including photographs or video), and any related biographical or nomination information for promotional, communication and reporting purposes. This consent applies to use by the Department of Justice and other organisations authorised by the Department and applies indefinitely.
    • By submitting this nomination, you acknowledge and agree that neither you nor the nominee are entitled to any payment, remuneration, royalties or other form of compensation for the use of this material.
