Please complete a separate report for each Apiary for which you undertake surveillance. Data collected through this form will be anonymised (personal data removed) before any external use and or reporting.

Beekeeper Registration (Brand) ID. Your beekeeping brand ID, e.g. WA8, is issued upon registration with the department (it's a legal requirement for keeping honey bees in Western Australia).

Did you find any suspected mites (e.g. Varroa or Tropilaelaps mites) during these surveillance activities?

You have indicated you found exotic mites. Have you reported these mites by calling the Exotic Plant Pest Hotline on 1800 084 881? All suspected cases of mites must be immediately reported.

Adult female Varroa mites are oval, flat, red-brown coloured mites. They are approximately 1.1 mm long and 1.5 mm wide (slightly larger than a poppy seed). Tropilaelaps mites are also red-brown, but are smaller: around 1 mm long and 0.5-1 mm wide. If you find exotic mites during apiary surveillance activities, keep the sample and immediately call the Exotic Plant Pest Hotline on 1800 084 881.
